Here’s how new real estate agents can take control of their schedules.
How can you effectively manage your time? In real estate, you don’t have a defined nine-to-five schedule, so you have to create one for yourself. However, this is easier said than done, especially if you’re just starting. Being a new agent is like drinking from a firehose—you’re trying to learn so much about so many different things that it’s easy to become overwhelmed. That’s why time management is crucial for newer agents.
The problem is that if you’re a new agent, you don’t have time to learn how to manage your time. What can you do? On our team, we strive to make sure our agents create a routine that works for them.
“Social media is probably one of your biggest time sinks.”
First, jot down everything you do for two weeks straight to know where you spend your time. Without looking at your schedule, we can say with confidence that some of your biggest time sinks are social media, email, and answering phone calls. Out of these three items, the easiest one to cut out of your work day is social media.
We recommend you set aside a specific time, either early in the morning or late at night to respond to social media posts. That way, you won’t be distracted during essential money-making activities like lead generation, lead follow-up, and lead conversion.
If you write down everything you do for a day and want to talk it through with someone, please call or email us. We’d love to help you create a schedule that works for you. We look forward to hearing from you!
